One of my good friends is an American guy. Once we talk about marriage, he turns to be very nervous and uncomfortable. I can understand that marriage is a horrible future for men, so that they tend to avoid it as much as possible.
But, I can see that he loves his girlfriend very much. They just match with each other. I cannot find a single reason to support why the sweet couple should not go to the next stage. The other friends kinda make fun of that. I only feel sorry.
Sometimes, we'll find ourselves trapped not in chains of marriage but in the cage of our own fear of commitment and responsibility. Why?
If we keep thinking that we cannot afford it, we may need to think through before dating anyone. I don't think it's right to date a person with a solid belief 'I'm serious about him (her)'. That wastes both our time and others' time.
We may need sometime to grow up before we get involved in any relationship...

I think marriage, to be taken seriously, must be scary for all parties involved...
Otherwise, you're just contributing to the divorce rate.
